We are looking for a Merchants & Marketplace Director for Pluxee Spain!
What you’ll be doing: What will your next challenge look like?
The Merchants & Marketplace Director is responsible for developing an effective go-to-market strategy to better leverage existing relationships with Pluxee merchants and benefits partners. As a critical member of the country leadership team, he/she ensures that the network is efficiently maintained and expanded, while new sources of growth are effectively delivered through merchants, insurance, and other benefits partners.
• Executes the go-to-market strategy for merchants & benefits partners in line with country priorities and the product roadmap.
• Establishes relationships and partnerships with different benefit providers.
• Builds the merchant organization and coverage plan to foster sustainable and profitable commercial results through merchants, insurance, and other benefits partners.
• Manages the Merchants & Marketplace organization, attracting, motivating, and retaining key talent.
• Manages the insurance broker unit, including the team, processes, and relationships with insurers.
• Ensures effective execution and communication of Pluxee value propositions to partners while maximizing growth and revenue generation.
• Conducts ongoing market analysis to stay at the forefront of employee benefits trends and B2B2C solutions.
• Defines, in collaboration with the product team, the processes and integrations required to ensure smooth operations with providers and scalability to other types of benefits.
• Develops and manages a budget to meet business targets, tracking, monitoring, and analyzing results and departmental performance.
• Contributes to financial forecasting related to revenue streams within his/her area.
• Actively participates in defining the overall company strategy with the management team.
• Acts as the point of contact for merchants’ associations and manages relationships together with the CEO. Builds strong relationships with key merchant stakeholders at senior levels.
• Develops methodologies to ensure efficient network coverage with an optimal cost structure and executes a proactive affiliation strategy aligned with country strategic priorities, identifying prioritized merchant clusters while optimizing commercial conditions.
• Defines commercial KPIs and targets, co-designing sales incentive plans with Finance and HR.
• Uses appropriate metrics (leading and lagging KPIs related to the sales funnel) to review team performance.
• Ensures proper adoption of processes, methods, tools, and routines for retaining key merchants.
• Ensures CRM usage for selected merchant activities.
• Works closely with other functions to improve the value proposition, develop new products, launch CSR initiatives, and refine tools and processes for merchants and benefits partners.
• Monitors competitors’ merchant practices, fees, and commissions, working closely with Marketing and Product teams to establish the right pricing strategy.
• Works in strong alignment with global and regional teams to exchange best practices within the merchant community.

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Work Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience leading a sales team.
• Previous experience in a senior sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets.
• Previous experience in retain industries, fintech companies, insurance, or marketplace business models is preferred.
Skills:
• High level of organizational and analytical skills.
• Process- and data-oriented (KPIs focus).
• Strong motivation and involvement; hands-on, creative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, including public speaking.
• Knowledge of the local retail market and insurance/brokerage industry is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with providers for marketplace integration.
• Familiarity with payment technologies.
• Understanding of the technical aspects of merchant networks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce).
